Akagera is one of the National parks in Rwanda. It has what most people would call the Big 5 which include lions, elephants rhinos, leopards and buffalos. The trip usually takes a whole day but you could use half of the day which means half of the park. The park is named after Akagera river that flows throughout it. Some of the other animals around the park include; antelopes (Eland, semi-aquatic sitatunga, roan..), giraffes, zebras, chimpanzees, monkeys, and baboons black-masked civet, black-tailed mongoose, warthogs, bush pigs, serval cats, and the lions are seen rarely Akagera National Park.
To those who love birds, Akagera national park has more than 520 bird species. Most of these birds can only be found in Akagera. Over 44 species of the Raptors, the shoebill, papyrus Gonolex, as well as many migrant birds and some of these include; the great snipe and the lesser kestrel. Akagera nocturnal wildlife. Most of the lakes in Rwanda are located in Akagera. Lake Ihema is the second-largest and tourists can have trips around it.
